| New Members & Auditions
N.A.O.C. has an enthusiastic and talented membership but, as we are always eager to maintain our high standards, we constantly try to strengthen our company. If you are interested in acting, singing and/or dancing or could bring practical stagecraft skills to our productions we would like to hear from you.
New members auditions were held on Thursday 11th February 2010 at Wardington Court and is the only time we audition new members until Spring 2011. For new member auditions you need to bring your own sheet music along but a pianist is provided.
Please note there is £5 fee to audition for the society which is in addition to the membership subscriptions.
Successful candidates are initially invited to join the company and take part in our annual Spring concert.

Subscriptions and Fees 2010 – 2011. Please find outlined below fees and subscriptions due to be paid throughout the year as a member of Northampton Amateur Operatic Company. Audition Fee for new members A one off non-refundable fee of £5.00, payable at the time of audition. Annual Subscription This is a yearly payment of £20.00 payable in April /May. This payment must be paid before the General Auditions for the annual production. Failure to pay this may result in your audition for the show being refused. Full –time students subscription is currently free. If a member has a 2 year lapse in payment of their Annual Subscription, their member status will be removed and they will have to reaudition for the group as a new member. Production fee
If you are successful in gaining role in the annual show, there is a £20.00 charge to be paid during September. This money goes directly to help support the cost of the production. Weekly Subscription This year weekly subscriptions are £1 per week during rehearsals for the concert and main show and are collected by Stefan Attrill. All performers in the concert/show pay. He is happy to receive payments on a weekly basis but members can also pay for several weeks up front. In addition to the fees set out above members are expected to: - Pay for their own concert music if participating in the annual concert. Music can be purchased through the group and the member may keep copies once the concert is finished. It is necessary for all concert members to have purchased copies of music prior to performance to be in line photocopying restrictions. - if participating in the Annual Show a deposit for hiring scores and libretto is required. Also the member may also incur other small costs in providing their own shoes, tights or small accessories / props if not provided by the company. Cheques to be made payable to NAOC.
